Gender Pay Gap in Luxembourg
The gender pay gap in Luxembourg with 5 per cent is among the lowest gaps in the EU (Eurostat: Gender Pay Gap in unadjusted form).
National Action Plan on Equal Opportunities
In 2009, a national action plan to promote gender equality and equal opportunities has been adopted. This action plan contains direct and indirect measure to enhance equal opportunities for men and women. Direct measures include a guide for installing equal pay and the introduction of the analysis tool Logib. Indirect measures entail establishing a girls' and boys' day to break gender stereotypes in education and career choices.
Collective Agreements
Since 2004, collective agreements must contain provisions on gender equality, among them provisions on the equal remuneration of women and men. In this regard, a plan for equality in employment and remuneration has to be drafted.
